Kevin Anderson is a photographer with the Bonner Springs Chieftain, Basehor Sentinel, Shawnee Dispatch and Lansing Current. Kevin joined the staff as chief photographer in December 2002. Before that, he was with the Kansas City Star for almost 16 years as a staff photographer and photo editor. Kevin attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He grew up in Omaha and, with the new direction of Coach Bo Pelini, he will continue the tradition as a Husker fan.

There was plenty of space and time available for voters like Gordon Phillips to cast their votes Tuesday morning at the Shawnee Civic Centre. Phillps said he was worried he would have to stand in line for a long time since he uses a cane. A high turnout for advance voting has accounted for smaller than expected crowds at some polling locations.
