Doyle Jardon and Ken Wagner Endorse Lynn Jenkins
TOPEKA, KS - JULY 21, 2008 The Lynn Jenkins for Congress campaign today announced the endorsement of 50 mayors, 25 county commissioners, 16 county treasurers, and 16 city council members throughout the Second District. While our primary opponent has support from Washington insiders and special interests, local Kansas leaders continue to line up behind Lynn and her message of lower taxes, reduced spending, and secure borders.
"I am honored to have the support and blessing of so many local officials throughout the district," Jenkins said. "These leaders are the building blocks of our state and they and their constituents deserve to be heard in Washington. From day one, I will make it a priority to stay connected with Kansans. I will never take them for granted."
"This amount of grassroots support is incredible for a primary campaign," Campaign Manager Pat Leopold said. "Local leaders, as well as Republican voters, are ready for some new leadership in Washington. A leader who will fight for Kansans everyday." In addition to these 107 endorsements, 11 former State Chairs of the Kansas Republican Party endorsed Lynn recently.

I watched a “debate” between Jim Ryun and Lynn Jenkins on Topeka channel 27 last night. I am definitely NOT a supporter of Jim Ryun, but I must say that Jenkins was just about the most irritating person I've seen in a debate in my entire life. Watching the two of them sitting next to each other at the news desk discussing (whining and finger-pointing about) the issues was like watching a couple of 6th graders stumble through their first attempt at a debate. Very disappointing, GOP. Boyda all the way! (And I am an independent).

I have respected Lynn Jenkins in her current role, but I have to agree with Nan that she didn't look very good, even next to a goober like Jim Ryun. She'll probably win the primary, but she's got a ways to go before we should look to send her to Washington.
