Whats going on???
I have been kept in the dark about the Maple Leaf Tire Store. I went by today, (sunday), and it looks like a circus in the front lot. Did another business here in Baldwin fall to the wayside? Please let me know what is wrong!

There was an article in the Baker paper about high utility rates. In it, Kevin from Maple Leaf complained about the high utility rates and stated it was driving him out of business. I know there were times I would go in for service and had a hard time getting the time of day. I think there is plenty of blame to go around why businesses fail in Baldwin.

Thanks for the answer. I guess this town will eventually be swallowed up by Lawrence or Gardner.

reparmn37 - try Edgerton.
I should just go ahead and pop in Tape #37 here rather than go on my normal diatribe about the incompetent city staff. Don't believe me that they are anti-business? Go ask them why they won't give the hardware store a business permit to start building, even after the whole dustup from over a month ago.
The answer: No reason. They just haven't gotten around to it yet. These things take time.
What exactly is Edgerton's school mascot and colors again? I think we might as well start getting used to wearing their stupid town name on our jerseys.

Well I guess we can be ready to be taken over by someone soon. If what you say is true, the people who run this town won't know we have ben taken over until they get around to it! (a round tuit!)

so what is the next business to go out…..perhaps one of the many bars, liquor stores, or banks we have in this town?
